Northern Africa

Northern Africa was significantly influenced by the Arab and Meditteranean Cultures, since the time of the Kingdom of Aksum. The main language of this region is Arabic, due to this strong influence.

Egypt has for a long time been a thriving country due to the richness and fertility of the land that the great Nile offers. As so, this country has the greatest population (around 90 million people).

In Northern Africa, the most imposing physical feature is the Sahara Desert, spanning the south of this region. It acts as a physical boundary between north Africa and the rest of the continent, and as a result, the religions and customs of the two seperate regions are quite independent from each other.

Some countries on Northern Africa depend on tourism in their economy. Luckily, Africa is quite beautiful and makes for some amazing scenery.

Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, and the Western Sahara
